Bootleg - International - Prism Card/Stickers (2 Series) - 1999

Quick Card Info
No sample image

Card Values
  set value: $10-15
  single: $0.50

Card images can be seen at Andy's site

These prism cards, which might also be stickers (I don't want to tear mine finding out) came in two different but similar series. They are prismatic.

Thanks to Bria and David Polis for alerts about the existence of this set. Additional thanks to Deb Kittle for much of the information below, and to Szabi for identifying the set as one of two Hong Kong bootleg sets released during Episode One.

The cards are 3 3/8" long by 2 3/8" wide. They have rounded corners and a black border around the front of the card. The front has STAR WARS EPISODE I on the bottom. On the back of the Version I cards you have a close up of Darth Maul's face on a black background. VERSION I is at the top right corner (if you're facing the card).

STAR WARS EPISODE I is printed over DM's mouth.

A second set was also issued labeled Version II. This set has the words Star Wars the Phantom Menace - Episode I on the front of each card in a prismatic font. The back of each card has the words Star Wars Episode I behind an image of Queen Amidala in her red outfit. The words VERRION II [sic] are in small print in one corner. Yes, they did spell Version incorrectly on these cards. What can I say, that's one of the problems with bootleg items.

These sets are not numbered.
